This too shall pass

Posted by Ramya Shankar on Wednesday, February 01, 2006
The last few days have seen the other side of me, the busy side. With the intra-department culturals round the corner and the sports week going on, I've been engaged in a lot of work. I have registered for so many events, that I even forgot which ones I enrolled for. The lecturers also don't seem to take pity on us and and are breezing through the syllabus in a mad rush just to finish the portions. Yep, my semester gets over by mid-April. It seems like I was cribbing about E.D just yesterday and my 1st year is about to come to an end in almost 2 months. Maybe its because of all these activities.
Today I was on my way back from college and this cute little boy hardly 3 years old comes running to me and pulls my dress down. I bend down to pick up the little fella and he asks me to take him for a walk around the apartment. :o) I agree and soon I find myself surrounded by little angels each one with a request so honest that you just can't deny them! Oh! Kids, they are such pure and wonderful souls.
Ah! But I'm reminded of all the work left in the moribund life. Nothing good ever lasts forever.
This too shall pass......

Balck and white feel of template was awesome...
Sometimes black and white would throw the millions of shades that a human eye can percive

Life's like that... isn't?

and you got to take a walk around the apartment carrying one?! good for you!!

A converstaion between Sairaj Dighe, age 09, and me went like this:

Sai: Dude! watsup.
(I was taken a bit aback with the greetings but then responded.)
Me: Sai bhai! Dude n all haan. Am sooper. Watchya doing?
Sai: Oh just brooding. So much tension naah. I bet if you were in my place you would have gone crazy.
(Reminder: The guy is aged 09 (nine) )
Me: Wow. What happened. So much tension. Studies?
Sai: Ah. what studies. This girl re. Shes all tattoo behind me and i don't know what to do. My sister toh, shes one grandma. She has warned me against giving her my homework and class ka notes. She thinks we are going out.
(I try to hold back the chuckle and then try to continue this very interesting convo.)
Me: So you are not? Gotta say i've seen you with this kid lady at places.( so whats wrong in adding some mirch masala here in there if it only helps you get things out of people.)
Sai: (blushes. then hits me on my thighs and says) arre we go to the same tuition. you would have seen me there. And btw, she's not my type. So forget it.
Me:(this time i can't hold back and erupts out laughing and in between chuckles, asks) Whats your type?
Sai: What the f are you laughing at?
Me:( i immedietely stop laughing. and i would not be exaggerating if i said my eyes popped out and the jaws touched the floor) WHAT? What the ff... sorry. What did you just say??? Im gonna tell this to your mummy.
Sai: You just say and then see what i'll do. I'l puncture your bike that day itselves.( and to make the impact felt said,). You just see.
( now this one scared me and i could be seen pleading and begging to him not to do it and bribing him with a pepsi cola. )

I would like to quote you here :
"Oh! Kids, they are such pure and wonderful souls."

I swear if this kid did what he said, he would really be left with only his soul and very little of his bodily parts.
psst...let Sai not come to know that i told this. ;-)

@Sheky: Read on ur blog.
@Vijay: Hehe... hopes!
@Phobiac: I will...
@Vani: You will, soon
@Sujith: Is this the cousin u were talking about?
